Rituals mark the transition from the mundane to the sacred. In BDSM, they serve the same purpose — signalling the shift from ordinary interaction to the heightened space of power exchange.
Perhaps it is kneeling upon entry. Perhaps it is the removal of clothing in a prescribed manner. Perhaps it is a phrase spoken, a gesture made, a position assumed.
These rituals ground us. They prepare the mind for what is to come. They honour the seriousness of what we do together.
In my dungeon, ritual is not mere theatre. It is the doorway through which transformation occurs.
